I’ve been running the Ute for just a few months and already it’s one of my essential range items. The modularity creates opportunities I didn’t know existed and the weight doesn’t make me second-guess bringing it along hunting.

As a SWAT Sniper for the Thurston County Regional SWAT Team, I have used this on multiple live call-outs and countless trainings and can confidently say that this piece of equipment is priceless. I am a proud early adopter of the Ute, after meeting Ian and seeing the Ute in use at an LE precision rifle course. While the Gen 1 is absolutely incredible and one of them most functional and versatile tripod accessories that I own, the evolution into the Ute 2 has been incredible and I do plan to purchase an updated model (mainly so I can brag about the low serial number of my original one day) as I see added value in them. The really cool thing is that the added value doesn’t come with added cost. My favorite feature of the Ute is that it's American made and machined by Americans and you can sense that pride in the product.

The design is ideal when we discuss functionality, weight, and overall size. There’s plenty of surface area for stability and repeatability when using the Ute 2, yet small enough to pack in the smaller outer pocket of my pack. I have used it once on a callout with about a 20 degree back slope on a roof top, coupled with a game changer bag, and it worked as expected with the added front lip to the table and the rubber cleats. I have also gotten some valuable positional training done with it with no complaints. I know there is much more to discover and test, and I look forward to it.
